NEW PICTURES!!!
Our precious Reagan is now 4 months old, and just look how she's grown! I have to say, it really is strange to watch your child grow up in photographs. I hardly recognized her, and truly had to look at these side-by-side with her 2 month photo to assure myself that they got the right baby. Of course they did, and I do see some similarities, but she certainly has changed. I'm glad they keep sending us these updates or I'd be liable to embrace the wrong child upon arriving in Vietnam. While I love this little girl, and long to hold her, she still is so much a stranger to us. My thoughts are so often consumed with her, yet until I received these pictures today I wouldn't have been able to pick her out of a crowd. I wouldn't recognize her cry if I heard it. I no nothing of her habits, temperment, preferences... yet she's my daughter all the same. I'm encouraged to see that she's grown, but relieved to see that she's still so small. I love the little shirt she's wearing, but can't wait to see her in the outfit I bought today. I'm glad that she can't take her eyes off of this caregiver, but wish it was my face she was glued to.

She is BEAUTIFUL Laura!!! I know all too well that feeling of watching them grow up in pictures... and I am thinking of you tonight. Soon, very soon, we will get to hold them, cuddle them, and take pictures WITH them... not just watch them grow up from a distance!
Hang in there!

Laura, she is so sweet!!! I know exactly what you mean about the "stranger" bit. But let me tell ya...when we picked up Ava, she was not happy to see us, and she cried quite a bit at first. At that time it really, really bugged me because I didn't *know* her cry. But once we came home I would watch the video and her cry was SO familiar. In fact 5 years later when I watch the video I still recognize it...I could pick her cry out of a million babies' cries. You WILL get to know Reagan. It might not happen overnight and for the first couple of weeks she might feel like a stranger but you'll get to know her inside and out...just like Alyssa and Parker. It's amazing! :)
She is so beautiful! Glad you got a new picture. She looks well loved and taken care of - what a blessing!
You put that so well. It is a bittersweet thing to get new pictures... joy to see your child, but sadness at what you are missing. She is an adorable baby. I hope you get travel approval soon.
What a sweet face! I hope you're holding her soon :)
It is an odd thing isn't it. For our first adoption (China) we didn't get an update so we met her at 13 mos old and the only photos we had were from when she was 6 mos old. There were 11 families in our group and we were last and honestly that is the only reason I thought they had to be giving us the right baby. I never would have picked her out. Of course now when I look back at the photos I think I was an idiot b/c it totally looks like her! And Rachel is right..it is a process that can take time. Just follow her cues and you'll do great.
