My heart is still racing (I feel like I’ve been jogging non-stop since Thursday), but I am finally thinking a little more clearly. My hands aren’t shaking quite so much either. But I still don’t have much more news to report. We haven’t purchased our plane tickets yet. I hope to get the details ironed out with our travel agent this afternoon. We’re out of town at a wedding all weekend, so communication has been a little difficult. I’m actually sitting in the bathroom of our hotel room while I type, trying to preserve as much serenity as possible for the flower girl who is STILL sleeping, despite the fact that it’s almost 10 am. The miracle of blackout curtains!
It looks like we’ll be leaving for Vietnam in less than 2 weeks! Our plane will leave LA around 1 am on Friday, May 11th, and we hope to return sometime before Thursday, May 31st. I’m not sleeping much trying to process all that needs to be done between now and then. I really felt like I was prepared, but now that it’s finally happening I realize there’s still a lot to think about! I’m determined to enjoy the time though and soak up every last ounce of Alyssa and Parker before I have to say goodbye to those sweet faces and our world turns upside down forever!

I'm so excited about your travel! I know you'll be so busy the next 2 weeks trying to prepare for the long 3 weeks you'll be out of the country. Be sure when you get your tickets they give you bulk seats on the way back with extra head room. Do not accept anything less than one of those front row seats that has a fold down baby bed. They stuck us in the middle of the plane, in the middle isle, no leg room, between people on either side from Korea to Atlanta, GA. Nobody was happy. Trust me! Double check the seats they give you.

It's so exciting. And I remember that feeling... wanting to enjoy your kids right now and getting ready for the unknown. Just wanted to reassure you a little though... your lives won't be upside down forever... eventually you'll settle into a new normal and someday it will even feel like Reagan has always been a part of your family. :-)

First, I think it should be very clear that we expect to see pictures of the flower girl very soon :) And second, wow - you're going to have such a whirlwind couple of weeks getting ready for your trip. I'm sure you can't wait to have Reagan in your arms. It seems like just a short time ago that you were trying to decide on her name!

Guess what?!?! I think we will be in the international terminal at the SAME time!! We will all be at LAX from 9:50pm to 12:55am!!! Wouldn't that be crazy if we actually got to meet up?! We are making a beeline for the Chili's in the domestic terminal as soon as we make it through customs...but other than that, we will be looking for you!! If you see four VERY tired couples with four adorable little boys...flag us down!!! Have a safe flight!!
